Aldo Richiardi, Jr.

Richiardi was
the most dynamic and exciting magician that I've ever seen.
Whether
performing his graceful Broom Suspension or his gory version of
the Buzz Saw, the
audience
was always mesmerized with his intense show-
manship.
Many magicians have tried to copy his style with little success.
Richiardi was
born in Lima, Peru and he was the son of a famous magician, He appeared
on
stage as an infant and his style and manner were a product of both his
Peruvian
heritage and a lifetime in showbusiness. He studied flamenco dancing
and bull
fighting, both of which contributed to his unique presentation style.
He was just as effective with his small magic as he was with his
illusions.
He performed the Razor Blades from his mouth while kneeling at the
footlights.
When each blade
appeared at his lips, a temple block sounded. The old Sun &
Moon mutilated hankerchief routine became memorable
because of his comedy
with a spectator.
His music was recorded and yet his timing was so superb that it was
almost as
effective as an orchestra.
While performing in the Bahamas his foot was injured and had to be
amputated
because of diabetic problems, he died soon afterward. We won't see his
like ever
again.
